My activity for the week (17-24 Sept.)

Finally, I think I have a “placement” for my k-12 classroom access. I will be working with Becky’s classroom as we develop some challenge activities that will engage students in learning using technology. The focus is on basic and advanced activities using Word. I will not let the cat out of the bag for now. 

I viewed and commented on a number of the existing presentations. I found the topics and presentations very interesting. I viewed Michael’s presentation but had nothing to say because I did not see the software in action or demonstrated. I have not used the software either. However, I feel it is a very good tool to have. I believed I also missed most of Lifang’s presentation or the more informative part.

My activities for the week Sept. 10-15th

I read and commented on Becky’s brainstorm ideas. However, I cannot see my comments anymore, may be Becky can help direct us to where the comment is. I do not know who to contact or when and where to make a contact yet since my work schedule will not allow me to meet with a classroom teacher during school hours. I am looking into Kompozer as an open source HTML editor along with Dreamweaver 8.

I have also read through the class activity log in order to keep track of where we are. I went over the project design documentation. I am not sure what to expect regarding my brainstorm post, anyone want to post a comment? Thanks.

Brainstorm for a project topic

         With my current circumstance regarding access to k-12 classroom,  I believe working with iMovie or Garageband as a tool for enhancing teaching and learning is a possibility. There is also a possibility for elluminate depending on availability.

My access to a K12 classroom

I work 8 to 5pm (M-F) at the university. I do not have any access to a k12 classroom and will not be able to leave work Monday-Friday before 5pm. I will be willing to meet with any arrangement(s) on weekends or after work hours. Therefore, I will need help getting matched up with a classroom otherwise I may have access to professors at the university.
